Bummer Weekend

This hasn't been my favorite few days.

Yesterday I took the kids to our friends' car show and stupid me, left one of the car doors unlocked and our ipod was stolen. :( When I went around to that side to unlock it and saw it already was, I knew right away.  [My car started out as a lease, had I known I would've actually ended up buying it, I would've waited a few weeks for electric locks.] I felt SO violated! Somebody was in my car, touching my stuff. Ugh what is wrong with people?! I was so pissed and shaking the whole way home- my stomach even started to hurt.

When we got home, I made the kids dinner then we started walking to get baths, I realized I didn't bring the diaper bag in, went back to the car and sure enough, it was gone too. Its a black tote so they probably thought it was a purse. At first, I kind of laughed because at least they thought they were scoring some more but ended up with diapers and other baby crap. But then I actually got really sad. I got that bag at my baby shower, its been with me through both kids. I remember waiting on Aiden and it sitting right next to his bedroom door, it being full of stuff for him to come home in. They probably just threw it in the trash, it was junk to them but to me it actually meant something to me and I probably would've kept it forever. :( [I'm sort of a pack rat.]

I almost left my purse in there too, I grabbed my phone out of it then at the last second just decided to take it with me. THANK GOD.

So there was that. Then being woken up around 2am to Aiden barfing. Ew. I always sleep in the kids' rooms when they're sick.  He was up all night throwing up and whining- I feel so exhausted today. Steven's sick too and I'm just hoping me and Rian don't get it. Probably will. :\

But hey, I guess things could be worse. I just keep telling myself that.

Anyway, enough of the pity party. I put a few recipes from Pinterest on my meal list for the week. I'm excited to try them. I love cooking but hate meal planning. Tonight I made one of them:

tomato basil soup
[and of course grilled cheese.]
So perfect on a day like today- its finally cold!

Snuggles

It rained last night and we were freeeeezing! Aiden curled up in my lap and fell asleep within a few minutes. Its rare times when he sleeps on me, loved it. It wasn't too long til we were both really sweaty though.

I wanted soo badly to read in bed and listen to the rain but we have super old windows that are a pain to close back up so we never open them. Boo. I started reading 'The Hunger Games' last week to see what all the fuss was about. I didn't have the slightest clue what it was even about, all I can say is wow! I didn't know what to expect, but I didn't expect it to be about kids killing each other while people watched. :\ Its good though.

Hanging out with the Ex.

Not mine, my husbands. We've been facebook friends for around a year and recently hung out a couple of times. Totally normal, right?! haha. We have kids around the same ages and our neighborhoods are across the street from each other so yesterday while the husbands were at work, we had a playdate with a few beers [or a lot.] I feel like everybody thinks we should hate each other but whatever. Their past got Steven to me today, so to not like her for that- dumb. Its weird to think about it and I know a lot of people would think we're crazy, I guess we are. But it was fun!

Aiden stayed up late last night so he didn't wake up til after 10, latest he's ever slept! So I didn't make him nap.

We curled up on the couch and watched Toy Story 2 [of course.]
He loved the alone time with Mom.

Annoyances.

This is super negative but I can't help it. I've decide to accumulate a list of things that annoy me. :)

This is just the beginning, people...

- First and foremost, FAKES. Honestly, if you don't like somebody why, why, why would you pretend you do?! Not like you have to be mean to them, but why make them think you actually like them?! Don't tell every single person you know how much you hate somebody, then to their face be their friend. I see this so much on facebook. Its pathetic.

- Speaking of facebook, check-ins. WHO CARES. Maybe if you're going to check into some place cool like Disneyland or Six Flags, but I could give a crap if you're getting your hair done or at the bank. For real. And okay, if you're getting some sort of discount- I can see why. But I don't need to know where you are every second of the day. Kthanks.

- When Moms say that being a stay at home Mom is the hardest job there is. Serious? Yeah, its difficult but I'm pretty sure its the easiest job I've ever had. There are challenges- its exhausting, the kids drive me crazy, we don't get sick days, time off, vacations, paid for all our work, nobody appreciates all the cooking and cleaning, blah blah blah. But I also can do what.ever.I.want.when.ever.I.want. Single moms and working Moms have it a million times harder. They have to work then be a Mom on TOP of that. I get to watch tv, sit at the computer and play with my kids all day. I don't even have to take a shower if I don't feel like it! I'm not getting shot at, have people talking down to me or have the pressures of a million other jobs out there. Geez. Get over it.

- Another Mom topic. You would think becoming a Mom, the most special thing there is to do, would bring women closer together. WRONG. Its the biggest, nastiest competion there is. Every little thing is judged by some other Mom. If you don't parent the same as somebody else, you're a bad Mom. You nursed your baby. You made your own babyfood. You never let your kid cry it out. You rocked your baby to sleep. We get it. But get off your high horse already. I've been guilty of this in the past but now I think its plain ridiculous: its so irritating when I see a picture posted of somebody's kid and the headline says something like "Don't worry, I wiped the table!" [this was actually on one of my own facebook pictures] like really?! Do we, as Moms, have to justify every little thing we do so we're not gossiped about?! Puh-lease. The people you feel you need to make this justification for need to get a life!

The end for now... til the next thing that annoys me pops into my head. And I'm sure there will be plenty.

R & A

Dinner's in the oven and I'm sitting here bored, waiting for my family to get home and looking at pictures of my two favorite kids in the world.

My babes waiting for Grandpa.

Love.

The most I did with my alone time today was get Aiden's allergy meds. Exciting.

Today was a calm day, not a whole lot of excitement [...excitement in this house is usually naughty kids] so I was fine with that!

Rian went to bed an hour later than her norm last night so I was hoping she'd sleep in today, nope. She was in my room bright and early at 6:45! She took an extra long nap though- I'm pretty sure she's pooped out. She gets way less sleep than she used to since we took her rail off.

We spent some time outside, ugh. According to the weather channel, it looks like today is supposed to be the last hot day, hopefully- November and still hot. This place is stupid. Its supposed to be in the 70s by the end of the week and I hope it stays! My kids shouldn't be playing in the sprinkler in November.

Aiden wore his costume a lot today, Ri even asked if she could wear hers a few times. Made me happy, she usually fights me on tutus.

That shirt and pants isn't what she was wearing when I put her down for her nap, she pulled the pants out of the hamper. I spent so much time today refolding all the clothes in their dressers because she's constantly in them.

November!

I just looked at my old blog to see last November's entries. So much has changed in the last 365 days- for the better, of course. Having two big kids is so fun and way easier, but they're growing up too fast!
