February

This month Asher turned five months old! As soon as February started, he started turning himself in a full circle on his belly. If he could just figure out how to move himself forward, he'd be army crawling!
He's so excited to eat, I can't wait til next month when we start solids.
Sleeping is still so-so. Waking up every few hours to nurse at night and only takes a good nap during the day if I'm holding him. I've come to the conclusion that this is okay because:
1.) I'm confident that eventually he'll nap on his own.
2.) He nap nurses and since I (mainly) only use one side, that helps keep my supply strong.
3.) He's my last baby! I'll never get to do this again. :(

Took the cutest picture ever this month.

I love when he wears his big brother's old clothes!

I've been waiting for years for Steven to build us a big farmhouse table. But with all of the other projects I have him constantly doing, it's never been a priority. I came across a really nice table, for a decent price. We went to look at it and I loved it even more in person. I wasn't crazy about the chairs, but I knew if I didn't get them, I'd regret it one day. I'm already so happy I got them. (We have a bench on the other side that I bought before we got the table, it went perfect with our other table, but took awhile for my eyes to get used to it with the new one.)

So pretty!

Every President's Day weekend Aiden goes camping with Steven's parents. This was his third year going and surprisingly, Rian decided to go too! So I had this little stinker alllll to myself for three whole days.

:)

Valentine's Day with my loves.
Asher started fussing and they were so concerened about him.
I love them.

We celebrated our sixth year of marriage!

Steven put in our new door!
Still needs to be painted, we tend to leave projects unfinished around here. :/

January

On New Year's Eve, I noticed a rash on AJ. I immediately Googled "rash and fever" and came across strep throat. Since he had a sore throat, I was certain that's what he had, along with scarlet fever. Steven always says I overreact and kept telling me he was fine. Everything was closed on the 1st and I didn't think it was an emergency, so we waited until the next day and took him to the pediatrician. I was right. :( Never underestimate my Mommy instincts! I ended up being so worried that I'd waited too long though, because it can cause other problems, like a month later, if you don't catch it soon enough. But everybody reassured me we had. I was also worried because it's crazy contagious. Luckily, nobody else at home got it. Phew. An ear infection and strep throat within a couple months of each other, man! My poor baby needs a break.

He started his second year of soccer last month. Last year, he just ran around looking cute at his games. At his second game this year, something obviously clicked. He got right in there and got ahold of the ball! He made three goals that game. Of course, I cried. It was so exciting, I kept imaging how he must've been feeling! Steven took his lunch break early that day and was there to see it.

So proud!

Asher turned four months old!

- He's so ready for solids! He gets so excited watching us eat, when I put my fork to his mouth, he even thinks he's eating! So cute.
- His sleeping is still awful. He sleeps 1.5-2 hours during the day, (usually only 30mins at a time) then he's up, usually every 2 (sometimes 3) hours at night. Auuugh. By 4am-ish, I'm usually so exhausted I just bring him in bed with me and he nurses whenever he wants, while I sleep. One day he'll sleep.
- He loves us. He lights up anytime he sees me, Steven, Aiden or Rian. And his Auntie Rae! Not that his dislikes other people, I can just tell he has his favorites.

4-year-well check: 38lbs
4-month-well check: 13lbs 7oz
The pediatrician told me Asher is below average. Eh whatever. The funny thing is, by four months he gained more than Aiden and Rian did, they were just born bigger so they weighed more. His eye appointment was cancelled because the doctor won't be in town, boo. They're supposed to call me when he gets them his schedule for February. I'm so ready to know what's going on with his eyelid!

Rian can write her name!

Asher found his toes!
(1.21.14)

I started working out again. I still have so far to go, but I already feel so much better and stronger! :)

I'm going to be 30 this year, yikes!

AJ had his 100th day of school this month and the kindergartners were dressing up like they were 100-years-old. While we were trying to put together an outfit, I popped the lenses out of some sunglasses:

He loves these things. He wears them all. the. time.
They help him see. :)

Day 365

Well, it's New Year's Eve. I did it! An entire year of blogging. I might not have done it very well, let's face it, the first month of the new year's about to be over and I'm barely finishing this. But I still did it and will love looking back on all the good times 2013 brought us.

I posted and wrote this on my instagram today:

I'm always saving pictures, blog posts, etc. about women brave enough to post pictures like these. I've never been one for New Year's resolutions, but now that I'm done having babies, I'm hoping to learn to love and embrace my "Mommy body." The place that grew and was the first home to my three greatest accomplishments. I don't want to look at my saggy skin and stretch marks and think about what once was, I want to look at them and be reminded of the greatest journey I'll ever take, the one into Motherhood. Without this body, I wouldn't be so blessed and surrounded by love. It won't be easy, but posting this is progress. Maybe this summer I'll even rock a bikini, weird belly button and all!"

This inspired from the "Fit Mom" Maria King, I'm sure everybody's heard of her. She's super healthy and fit, after three kids. She posted a picture of her and her boys with the caption "What's your excuse?" and got so much backlash. It's awful. She recently posted a picture of her abs and next to it, she did a close up (I think she was bending a little) and you could see her saggy skin. That is so inspiring to me! A real woman, not airbrushed.

I'm thinking I'm going to start working out again soon. I want to feel healthy again. Working out does so many things for me, I feel better about myself physically and mentally, when I see what I can push through. Hopefully that motivation hits me soon and hard!

So, here's to a healthier me in 2014!

Happy New Year!

Day 364

AJ woke up today with a sore throat, he hardly ate and slept most of the day. :( What a bummer way to start his last week of vacation.

I put Asher in his moses basket in our room for bed, so he could be away from the germs.

He looks so big!

Soo cute.

Day 361

These crazy kids woke up at 6:30 today, ugh!

I made them reindeer pancakes and we had a very loud breakfast!
(I don't like how my walls look lime green in pictures! When I look at them in person, they're dark green. Sometimes I wish they were a light color again, but not bad enough to repaint!)

Adrian was here til around 4, when Rachel picked him so they could head out of town to take him home. It was a craaaazy day!
