January

On New Year's Eve, I noticed a rash on AJ. I immediately Googled "rash and fever" and came across strep throat. Since he had a sore throat, I was certain that's what he had, along with scarlet fever. Steven always says I overreact and kept telling me he was fine. Everything was closed on the 1st and I didn't think it was an emergency, so we waited until the next day and took him to the pediatrician. I was right. :( Never underestimate my Mommy instincts! I ended up being so worried that I'd waited too long though, because it can cause other problems, like a month later, if you don't catch it soon enough. But everybody reassured me we had. I was also worried because it's crazy contagious. Luckily, nobody else at home got it. Phew. An ear infection and strep throat within a couple months of each other, man! My poor baby needs a break.

He started his second year of soccer last month. Last year, he just ran around looking cute at his games. At his second game this year, something obviously clicked. He got right in there and got ahold of the ball! He made three goals that game. Of course, I cried. It was so exciting, I kept imaging how he must've been feeling! Steven took his lunch break early that day and was there to see it.

So proud!

Asher turned four months old!

- He's so ready for solids! He gets so excited watching us eat, when I put my fork to his mouth, he even thinks he's eating! So cute.
- His sleeping is still awful. He sleeps 1.5-2 hours during the day, (usually only 30mins at a time) then he's up, usually every 2 (sometimes 3) hours at night. Auuugh. By 4am-ish, I'm usually so exhausted I just bring him in bed with me and he nurses whenever he wants, while I sleep. One day he'll sleep.
- He loves us. He lights up anytime he sees me, Steven, Aiden or Rian. And his Auntie Rae! Not that his dislikes other people, I can just tell he has his favorites.

4-year-well check: 38lbs
4-month-well check: 13lbs 7oz
The pediatrician told me Asher is below average. Eh whatever. The funny thing is, by four months he gained more than Aiden and Rian did, they were just born bigger so they weighed more. His eye appointment was cancelled because the doctor won't be in town, boo. They're supposed to call me when he gets them his schedule for February. I'm so ready to know what's going on with his eyelid!

Rian can write her name!

Asher found his toes!
(1.21.14)

I started working out again. I still have so far to go, but I already feel so much better and stronger! :)

I'm going to be 30 this year, yikes!

AJ had his 100th day of school this month and the kindergartners were dressing up like they were 100-years-old. While we were trying to put together an outfit, I popped the lenses out of some sunglasses:

He loves these things. He wears them all. the. time.
They help him see. :)
